Exactly this though. Remember the times when people understood not everybody knows the etymology for every word, and people understood that no one was attacking people because of completely random words being said that barely carry the same meaning?

Honestly the world is insane, these opinion pieces being like, "oh today I found out I'm a racist" do not help. Jeez, why can't we all just tone it down a notch.
