Joe Biden Nominated for Nobel Peace Prize, President Trump Receives Third Nomination
On Monday the 28th of September just two weeks prior to the first presidential debate, Joe Biden has received a nomination for a Nobel Peace Prize from senior British MP Chris Bryant. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump receives his third nomination. What are the Peace Prize nominations for, and who were they nominated by?
Joe Biden’s nomination comes from British MP Chris Bryant. Bryant is a part of the Foreign Affairs committee, Committee of Standards, and the Committee of privileges and has been a part of the Labour Party since June 2001 (1). Chris has told the Standard.co.uk, “When others have resorted to violent solutions, he has argued that the best force is the force of argument. Because guns can stop a heart but well-placed words can change many hearts, and many hearts can change a world (2).” however hasn’t pointed to any particular speeches, quotes, or actions from Biden.
Trump’s Third Nomination
President Donald Trump’s third Nobel Peace Prize nomination comes from David Flint and three other Australian Law Professors for what they call the Trump Doctrine. Flint explains, ““What he has done with the Trump Doctrine is that he has decided he would no longer have America in endless wars, wars which achieve nothing but the killing of thousands of young Americans. “So he’s reducing America’s tendency to get involved in any and every war. “The states are lining up, Arab and Middle-Eastern, to join that network of peace which will dominate the Middle-East. “He is really producing peace in the world in a way in a which none of his predecessors did, and he fully deserves the Nobel Peace Prize (3).”
With both Presidential candidates now in the run for the Nobel Peace Prize, we just have to wait and see what the results will be. That is if either of them take it away.
